Our choice for an all-round bike helmet
The Giro Agilis MIPS is our top choice for an all-round bike helmet because it perfectly combines safety and comfort. With 32 ventilation openings, it keeps your head cool on every ride. The MIPS system provides added protection in the event of a crash, and the Roc Loc 5 system ensures a precise and easily adjustable fit. Thanks to its lightweight construction and premium design, this helmet is ideal for both sporty and recreational cyclists looking for quality.
Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- The 32 ventilation openings ensure good airflow to keep your head cool while cycling.
- The helmet includes MIPS technology, which provides an extra layer of protection.
- The deeper-coverage design offers more protection than a traditional road cycling helmet design.
- The helmet has many vents, which may be less comfortable on cold or rainy days.

Construction and fit
The Agilis MIPS cycling helmet has an In-Mold construction, in which the outer shell is fused with the foam lining. This makes for a strong and durable helmet. The helmet uses the Roc Loc 5 MIPS system to allow for precise fit and position adjustments. This system integrates MIPS technology for extra protection in the event of an impact at an angle.
Ventilation and comfort
The helmet features 32 Wind Tunnel ventilation openings that work together with internal channels to create good airflow. The CoolFit padding helps wick away moisture and regulate temperature, enhancing comfort. The lightweight straps use a Slimline buckle. With a weight of 280 grams, the helmet feels very light on your head.

A good all-round helmet
- Vincent 13 September 2026
Be sure to try a helmet on in the shop! A member of staff told me that helmets of a particular brand are designed for a specific head shape. I have a slightly rounder head, so a Giro helmet fits me well, whereas an Abus helmet doesn’t fit as well!
Pros & Cons
A relatively inexpensive helmet
MIPS
No aero design
